We just got back up to Auckland and had one day left with Neil before he headed back. I’d been telling him about this place on the west coast that has some awesome sand dunes to ride bikes in ,so I called up some of my best mates back home and organized a truck and some bikes. We met up with Jimmy, Hayden and Lee at 6am, so we could make a run in the truck some 40 minutes drive up the beach to beat the high tide.
We made it to the riding spot called the ‘bombing’ range, and set ourselves up. With no one else around and 1000’s of acres of sand dunes to ride, we were all in heaven: shredding big sand bowls 5th gear pinned, or finding new lines and jumps. It’s endless fun.
Nothing makes it better though than being there with your best mates.
Cheers boys for the good times.
